Commercial curtain-track planning
Curved and Recessed Motorized Curtain Track Planning
A shaped curtain track is specified from a measured route, not a generic product width. Send a dimensioned plan, section or clear sketch showing every straight segment, curve, recess, opening direction and motor position.

- Recess and access coordination
- Section and control planning
Geometry and operation
Start with the measured path and the intended movement
Record straight, L-shaped, U-shaped, bay or custom-arc geometry, curve points, opening type, motor side, stack direction and any return. The selected profile and dimensioned drawing determine feasibility, so this page does not publish a universal bend radius.
- Route
- Every straight segment, curve point, requested radius and return.
- Opening
- Single or center opening, motor side and stack direction.
- Mounting
- Ceiling, wall or recess, with substrate, brackets and finished surfaces.
- Access
- Installation, alignment, connection and future service path.
Check a CC-B112 Single-Curve Route Before Factory Review
Use this documented center-opening pleated-curtain reference to prepare a single-curve drawing for factory review. Room width or a photo alone does not define the route.
| Published CC-B112 reference boundary | Buyer should mark on the drawing | Still requires factory review |
|---|---|---|
| Minimum curve radius: 200 mm | Requested radius and the drawing reference used to measure it. | Route feasibility and fabrication geometry. |
| Maximum 90° per curve | Angle of the individual curve. | The complete route and bend sequence. |
| Center-opening pleated-curtain reference | Opening and stack direction, curtain type, fullness, fabric-weight assumption and estimated finished curtain weight. | Final track build and suitability for the submitted route. |
| CM-51-E 24VDC reference motor | Motor-end location and nearby power/access conditions. | Final motor selection, orientation and project-specific access requirements. |
The published CC-B112 reference associates these curve parameters with 2.2× fullness and 400 g/m² fabric. Different curtain constructions or project conditions still require review. The source refers to dedicated bending equipment and recommends factory bending. These reference values do not by themselves approve a project route for fabrication.
Recess and building interface
A recessed track needs an installation and service path
Show the ceiling, wall or recess condition, pocket width and depth, fixing substrate, bracket access, finished ceiling and maintenance route. A recess that cannot be accessed after installation is not a complete track specification.
Ceiling mount
Identify the fixing substrate, bracket positions, finished level and access above or beside the track.
Wall mount
Show the wall build-up, bracket projection, curtain clearance and any return condition.
Recessed pocket
Provide pocket width and depth, cable entry, motor clearance and removable access route.
Shaped opening
Dimension every segment and curve while preserving stack, return and adjacent-building clearances.
Curtain, load and track profile
Select the mechanical system against the curtain and route
Provide curtain type, estimated finished weight, fullness and stack, finished drop and whether single or center opening is required. The track profile, carriers, brackets, splice and motor are selected against those inputs.
Load, life, noise and other performance figures remain tied to the exact profile, motor, route and supporting evidence; no catalog-wide value is implied here.
Technical coordination table
Inputs to confirm before track review and quotation
The drawing is the primary quotation input. Each field below helps connect geometry, curtain, mounting, motor, control and logistics to the same route.
| Input group | Information to provide | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Geometry | Segments, curve points, requested radii and straight, L, U, bay or custom route | Defines the measured path to be reviewed for the selected profile. |
| Opening | Single or center opening, motor side, stack side and return | Connects movement and curtain stack to the track and motor layout. |
| Building interface | Ceiling, wall or recess; pocket, substrate, finished surface and access | Frames brackets, clearances, installation sequence and serviceability. |
| Curtain | Type, estimated finished weight, fullness, stack and finished drop | Supports profile, carrier, bracket and motor review. |
| Power and control | Voltage and frequency, motor position, remote or grouping need, interface, commands and feedback | Defines the exact motor-side path and project-side responsibility. |
| Logistics | Quantity, package-length restriction, site access, section plan, labels and destination | Determines whether a one-piece route is practical or labeled sections must be planned. |
Motor, power and control
Coordinate the motor position with power, access and interface
Confirm motor position, available voltage and frequency, cable or charging route and any manual or power-failure requirement. Control capability is model-specific and must be mapped to the project architecture.
Drawing review and quotation handoff
Use one dimensioned route as the shared reference
Final curve, length, splice, brackets, motor and installation responsibility are confirmed only after the selected profile and project constraints are reviewed.
- Draw the routeDimension every straight segment, curve point, recess and return.
- Mark operationShow opening type, motor side, stack side and movement direction.

Sections, packing and site handoff
Plan long or shaped tracks around transport and access
- 01Share drawingDimensioned route, sections, mounting, curtain, power, control and destination.
- 02Review routeCheck profile direction, curves, brackets, access and open questions.
- 03Plan sectionsApply package-length, freight and site-access constraints to the route.
- 04Approve scopeConfirm track, splice, motor, interface and responsibility documents.
- 05Label handoffCoordinate section, floor, room or opening labels and site assembly responsibility.
A long track ships in one piece only when the selected profile, packing, freight and site access allow it. Otherwise, labeled sections and connectors are planned against the approved route.
FAQ
Questions that finalize a shaped-track brief
Is there one minimum bend radius?
No universal value is published. Radius and fabrication depend on the selected profile and dimensioned route.
Can a long track ship in one piece?
Only when the selected profile, packing, freight and site access allow it. Otherwise, labeled sections and connectors are planned.
Can the track connect to KNX or a BMS?
Only through a documented project-specific motor and interface path with defined wiring, programming and commissioning responsibilities.
What drawing is acceptable?
A dimensioned CAD file, PDF or clear sketch showing segments, curve points, mounting or recess, motor position and opening direction.
Ready to Review a Curved or Recessed Track Route?
Send a dimensioned route, section or clear sketch with curtain, mounting, motor, power, control, packing and destination inputs. Final track and performance details depend on the selected profile and confirmed project scope.
