How to Specify Curved Motorized Curtain Tracks for a Project
A curved track quotation begins with geometry, curtain load, installation method and control architecture. Use this guide to prepare an L-shaped, U-shaped, bay-window or custom-arc track for technical review.
Why a drawing is required
Overall wall width alone is not enough for a bent track. The drawing establishes the path of the track, straight sections, curve transitions, opening direction, motor end and obstacles. A dimensioned PDF, CAD export or clear hand sketch is suitable for initial review.
Mark the shape and dimensions
L-shaped
Show both leg lengths, the inside corner or arc, the wall or ceiling reference and which end carries the motor.
U-shaped or bay
Show every straight segment, both turns, symmetry or asymmetry, front projection and the final opening direction.
Custom arc
Provide chord, rise, radius if known, or a full-size/coordinate template. Do not estimate the curve from a photograph.
Project specification table
| Item | What to provide | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Track path | Straight, L, U, bay or custom arc drawing | Defines fabrication and section transitions |
| Dimensions | All segment lengths, offsets and reference points | Prevents cumulative measurement error |
| Opening | Single draw or center open; stack side | Sets carriers, belt routing and motor position |
| Curtain | Single/double layer, wave or standard heading, estimated total weight | Influences track, carriers and motor selection |
| Installation | Ceiling, wall, recessed pocket and bracket constraints | Defines profile and fixing plan |
| Power/control | Voltage, outlet, motor end, RF/Tuya/Zigbee/RS485/dry contact/KNX plan | Matches motor and project interface |
| Logistics | Quantity, destination, access and maximum package length | Determines split points, connectors and packaging |
Decisions that change the track
Curtain and installation
- Single layer or double layer
- Wave curtain or conventional hooks
- Ceiling, wall or recessed installation
- Single opening or center opening
- Curtain stack and return requirements
Motor and control
- Motor position and available power
- Remote, wall switch or app control
- RS485 or dry-contact motor interface
- KNX/BMS gateway responsibility
- Commands, grouping and feedback required
Long tracks, bends and shipping
The minimum bending radius, maximum practical section length and connector locations depend on the selected profile and project geometry. For long or complex tracks, the quotation should identify any split sections, assembly points, labeled packaging and installation sequence. Confirm site access and shipping limits before fabrication.

Common specification mistakes
- Sending only the room width without the track path.
- Leaving the curtain weight, opening direction or motor end undefined.
- Assuming every motor supports the same protocol or feedback.
- Confirming a recessed pocket before checking profile and bracket clearance.
- Ignoring shipping length and on-site assembly access.
Curved track FAQ
Does Saiwenna supply curved motorized curtain tracks?
Yes. Curved, L-shaped, U-shaped, bay-window and other project track configurations can be reviewed from drawings. Final fabrication depends on geometry, curtain load, installation and control requirements.
Can Saiwenna customize L-shaped and U-shaped curtain tracks?
Yes, after the segment dimensions, bends, opening direction, motor position and installation details are confirmed.
What information is required for a quotation?
Provide a dimensioned drawing, quantity, curtain type and estimated weight, opening direction, installation method, power and motor position, control method and destination.
