Motorized Shade App and Gateway Requirements: Pre-Order IT Readiness
Define local versus remote use, gateway, app/account, region, network ownership and commissioning responsibilities before ordering connected shades.
Quick Answer
Before ordering an app-connected configuration, define whether control must work onsite, remotely or both. Identify the selected motor/controller and gateway/module if known, the intended app and region, who owns the network/account and who commissions the system. Mark every dependency as included, buyer-provided or unverified. Never send Wi-Fi passwords, account passwords, OAuth secrets or private keys in an RFQ.

Onsite and Remote Are Separate Requirements
Onsite app use
May depend on local network, gateway or controller. Verify the named configuration.
Remote access
May add internet/cloud/account/region dependencies. Do not assume it follows from onsite app control.
Local non-app control
A wall switch or remote may use another path. Its survival belongs to the PC06 failure review.
